"I always look forward to our visits from Tim. I know that the pupils are going to be engaged from beginning to end. Tim "keeps it real" and speaks to the pupils as the young adults that they are.
The content of Tim's talks are informative, interesting and up to date. He can really relate to the pupils and is able to make them think about languages in a way that they had never considered. What I find particularly interesting is how Tim can demonstrate the ways in which languages can open doors in all aspects of your life.
One pupil who was definitely not going to opt for a GCSE language because she wants to be a marine biologist was completely wowed by Tim who told her how she could make languages work for her. This young lady now comes to see me most days with French words that she has researched about marine biology and she has also opted for GCSE French.
Tim's words definitely gave the pupils food for thought with many pupils who had no intention of taking a language prior to the talk, later deciding to opt. We are already looking forward to welcoming Tim back to our school next year in order to help with our quest to increase the uptake for the study of MFL".
